Delivery assurance: making programs actually ship
Delivery assurance is independent oversight that keeps a program honest: it surfaces the real risks, gives sponsors a decision-ready picture, and lands an action plan owners actually run. This hub covers the audit, the operating model, and the communication that makes findings stick.
Why assurance pays for itself
Large transformation programmes fail more often than they succeed. The widely quoted 70% figure comes from BCG's 2020 survey of 825 executives, in which 70% of digital transformations fell short of their objectives. PMI's 2026 Pulse of the Profession reports that 31% of complex projects fail to achieve the full scope of their intended benefits, more than twice the rate for projects overall, and its 2020 edition tied poor delivery maturity to 11.4% of investment wasted. The causes cluster the same way across that research: unclear ownership, weak governance, and status reporting that hides risk until it is expensive.
Independent assurance is the cheapest insurance against that outcome. A short, external audit early enough to act costs a fraction of a programme in crisis, precisely because it turns opinion and colour-coded optimism into evidence a sponsor can decide on.
Sources as of September 2026: BCG, Flipping the Odds of Digital Transformation Success (October 2020); PMI, Pulse of the Profession 2020, and Pulse of the Profession 2026 (16th edition, 12 May 2026, verified 11 September 2026). Figures are attributed to those sources and are not proprietary Zenous data.
